- Pacific Time

Cohosted by Taube Philanthropies, UC Berkeley Center for Jewish Studies and the Magnes Collection of Jewish Art and Life

After the Holocaust, over a quarter million Jews, known as the Surviving Remnant, remained in limbo for about half a decade most of them in DP camps on German soil. Their plans to immigrate to the West or to Palestine were blocked by the Allies at almost every turn. Yet amidst profound grief, displacement, and uncertainty, their story is

one of resilience, renewal, and hope.
