Why do we celebrate eight days of Hanukkah? The answer turns out to be more complicated than what we learned as children. And we will also be surprised at how little the rabbis of the Talmud themselves understood about Hanukkah, which is the only holiday Jews celebrate that is not mentioned in the Bible.
