The abortion debate has just reached fever pitch following the leak of the Supreme Court majority opinion suggesting the demise of Roe vs. Wade. If it is overturned, what other personal freedoms are already/will be in danger: transgender health services, gay marriage, contraception?
We will examine the issue from multiple perspectives:
- Abortion in Jewish Law (Rachel Biale)
- The Abortion Wars: The social-political-cultural divide, impact on public health (Prof. Carole Joffe), and Jewish values undergird working as an abortion provider (Dr. Debbie Bamberger)
- Focus on Abortion: Americans Share Their Stories: A Photographic Journey (Roslyn Banish)
- What’s Next: Legal Implication and Looming Battles: Same-sex marriage and parental right, contraception, and more (Attorney Linda Scaparotti)
4 sessions: June 1, 8, 15, 22
When you register you’ll see “Start Date: June 1:” you are automatically registered for the full series. You can only register for the full series: no individual session option. If you miss a session you can watch the video: the link will be posted on this page the day after the class.
