Maya Savir is a human rights and peace activist who currently serves as Israel country director for Search for Common Ground, the largest international organization dedicated to peacebuilding. She spent a decade working in humanitarian and development roles in Africa, an experience that included visits to South Africa and Rwanda and led her to write On Reconciliation: What Israelis and Palestinians Can Learn from South Africa and Rwanda, originally published in Hebrew in 2017 and now available in English translation by Todd Hasak-Lowy, with a foreword by Aziz Abu Sarah.

Savir is also the author of two works of adult fiction, one work of adult nonfiction, a young adult novel, and three children's books. She is the daughter of Uri Savir, one of the architects of the Oslo Accords, and lives in Tel Aviv with her husband and four children.
